We believe in brand altruism.

We love what brands do for people. We love how they do it.
So we want to help them do it for more people.

We invest in the futures of all of our clients. That’s what we call brand altruism.

We are Vladimir Jones, Colorado’s original independent, integrated advertising agency, with offices in Denver and Colorado Springs. We’re never just agency partners; we see every relationship as a long-term partnership. Every brand needs a partner who believes in its possibilities and opportunities. That’s what we do, adapting to fit the particular needs of each client. Being small means we’re agile and can make a huge impact. We have all the capabilities of larger agencies and consultancies but our team can move at speeds that they simply can’t.

Our faces

Meredith Vaughan

Chief Executive Officer

Every business that is built for the long haul needs a growth engine, and that is the role that Meredith plays for Vladimir Jones. Meredith joined Vladimir Jones in 1999 after spending most of the ’90s working for powerhouse agencies such as TBWA\Chiat\Day in Los Angeles and Goldberg Moser O’Neill in San Francisco. Between 1999 and 2008, when Meredith became VJ’s president, she grew agency billings by more than 600% through new client acquisition and retention strategies. Meredith became CEO in 2014 and continues to ensure that VJ brings to life our focus on building meaningful relationships that last, as well as ensuring that VJ is a place where our team is fulfilled and has a sense of purpose. Meredith’s current and previous client work covers a wide range of industries, including extensive work in the retail, nonprofit, health care, sports marketing, travel and tourism, and Native American gaming categories. Meredith currently sits on the board of directors for the National Advertising Review Board, the American Indian College Fund, the Myron Stratton Home and Ent Credit Union.

Cody Gore

Director of Account Services

Cody has been with Vladimir Jones for more than 13 years, managing regional and national accounts of all shapes and sizes, and in all industries. Over his time here, he has supported category-breaking work for each of his clients, exceeded his clients’ business goals, mentored strong account teams and led some of the agency’s largest clients’ brands including Otter Products, Xcel Energy, Colorado Springs Utilities, Snowmass Tourism, Black Hills Energy and State of Nebraska Tourism Commission. In the utility category, he’s helped shift consumer perceptions from apathetic to engaged, and transformed brands into trusted partners, rather than transactional commodities. In the tourism space, his clients have seen record-breaking visitation and their brands elevated from ‘places on the map’ to ‘places in the hearts’ of consumers.

Jim Morrissey

Executive Creative Director

Enthusiasm is Jim’s secret weapon. It helps him create and build human connections for brands. His creative approach is to always keep iterating and constantly honing his chops in the art of simplification. He’s written and created noteworthy (and award-winning) work for a diverse group of clients like Ford Motor Company, Procter & Gamble, Tri-State Energy, Odell Brewing Company, and the Colorado Lottery. From social media platforms and branding to integrated marketing, Jim’s able to guide clients through the ever-changing landscape of digital and traditional channels, balancing creativity with strategic rigor.

Jon Bross

Director of Media Services

The marriage of message and medium is the challenge, passion and focus for Jon. With more than 25 years of media planning and buying experience, Jon leads VJ’s team of multimedia planners and buyers through media strategy, technology convergence and campaign efficacy in our world of data-driven marketing. Since joining Vladimir Jones in 2003, Jon has worked on accounts including Xcel Energy, Centura Health, Colorado Tourism, The Broadmoor and Otter Products, among others. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Jon began his career at Hoffman York learning the planning processes on accounts such as KFC, The Dow Chemical Company, Wisconsin Lottery and Yamaha water vehicles. He is a sought-after keynote speaker on the subjects of media innovation, channel convergence and ad tech, and has been featured at publishing industry conventions, ad clubs, Kantar Media’s Product Advisory Panel, the Colorado American Marketing Association and NPR’s coverage of political advertising. His experience in strategic planning, the evolution of buying and platform convergence keeps him focused toward the next big thing in our dynamic media landscape.

Anne Faricy

Head of Strategy and
Consumer Insight

Anne’s first ad gig was as a Vladimir Jones summer intern in 2003. After graduating from CU Boulder, she spent 12 years on the Los Angeles and San Francisco ad scene at DDB, RPA, Venables Bell and Goodby Silverstein & Partners. As a strategic lead, she helped build brands as well as consumer and client experiences for American Honda, Farmers Insurance, Intuit, Intel and Adobe, as well as a slew of new business endeavors. Returning to VJ in 2017, Anne leads brand strategy, consumer insight and cultural trend work for the agency, new business and current clients. She’s obsessive about weird questions, sharp writing, psychology, the connectedness of seemingly unrelated things.

Paul Walker

Director of Operations

Paul joined the agency in 2009 as the IT director and revamped our technology infrastructure. Over the subsequent four years he began to use his U.S. Olympic project management/IT background to identify areas for process improvement and system integration. Prior to VJ, he managed the technology deployment for the U.S. Olympic Team for 10 years both nationally and internationally. At Vladimir Jones, he currently assists all departments with identifying methods to improve operations. He supports our project management team and manages our information technology support. He holds many IT-specific certifications, is a graduate of UCCS with a bachelor’s degree in Strategic and Organizational Communication, and is a Six Sigma Black Belt professional through MSI.

Some nice words

In our search for (an advertising agency), Black Hills Energy looked for a partner that was strategically focused and driven by customer research to help guide us in a brand articulation process. We also wanted a group of professionals who not only were innovative and creative in their approach but also had a positive track record of working with and understanding the energy industry. Vladimir Jones has been all that and more. They have come alongside us and been a hands-on partner to help position our brand strongly and positively in the minds of our customers and our stakeholders. We are excited with what’s ahead for our brand and confident that Vladimir Jones is the best partner to have along for the journey.

Dave Smetter
Black Hills Energy

Vladimir Jones is one of the smartest, most dedicated and genuine groups of people I’ve had the pleasure of working with in my career. Otter Products has seen financial growth and a bolstering of brand equity as a direct result of their hard work across both our brands, OtterBox and LifeProof. The team plays an integral role in our overarching advertising strategy development, planning, and execution (across digital and traditional channels), and wields an unrivaled amount of brain power, expertise, data and tools to ensure we check the guesswork at the door—or as much of it as we can in Marketing.

Ian Haygood
Otter Products

Working with Vladimir Jones has been game-changing for the American Indian College Fund. Our work together in the areas of consumer research, updated brand voice and messaging, and creating and developing digital communications channels has resulted in incredible growth. Where we used to acquire about 4,000 new supporters each year, we are now acquiring almost 20,000 new supporters annually. Our Vladimir Jones team is smart, experienced, insightful and creative—we do great work together while working with great people!
